Facebook Launches YouTube Competitor to build video communities
In yet another attempt to take on Google-owned YouTube, Facebook has launched new tools for online video creators to join its program.
Called [highlight]Facebook Creator[/highlight], the app will help the community make an original video, go live with exclusive features and match their community on the social websites giant.
The app has become launched globally on the iOS platform and will roll out pertaining to Android users in the upcoming months.
“On Facebook, inventors can connect with more than two billion potential fans and collaborators, get to know their community, talk directly to fans with Live, and monetize with products like branded articles, ” Chris Hatfield, Merchandise Manager, Video, said within a post on Friday.
The app has tools making it easy to create live shows with a personalized and entertaining feel.
“Creators can add intros as openers to their located broadcasts, outros that deduce them, custom live 3d stickers that viewers can use to interact, and graphics support frames to create a consistent brand, ” Hatfield said.
With the “Community Tab” feature, creators can easily connect with fans and collaborators with a unified inbox, which in turn centralizes comments from Facebook. com and Instagram, and emails from Messenger. Video inventors can also access Facebook Testimonies to engage with their fans.
The corporation also launched a website “Facebook for Creators” where inventors can find resources and ideas on how to create great videos, match fans and grow about Facebook.
After launching a number of video-centric features over the last 12 months, Facebook is also testing the 4K quality of videos. Vimeo has been working with 4K online video since 2010 with 4K live streaming rolling out this past year.
Facebook already supports 4K resolutions in its live fish hunter 360 videos. The push to raised resolution video comes after taking into consideration Facebook’s foray into initial content with several original displays coming to the Watch tab.
